Grainy look on Paperwhite

I just picked up a current-gen Paperwhite and noticed that there's a good amount of greyish, grainy looking specks on the screen. They're all over the screen, some darker than others, and not really noticeable from a reading distance unless I'm looking for them. Comparing it to my first-gen PW, the older one doesn't have any of that grain quality to it. Is this normal, just a change they made to newer PWs to make them look more "paper-like"?

All of my many Kindles over the years have had that grainy look, some more than others. My Kobo has it as well.

IF the specks don't change as you turn pages & you cant Clean them off. Maybe a burst striad...
