moving Kindle 3 native apps to another kindle?
Hello, I have a Kindle 3/Kindle Keyboard that I got recently that has a bit of a dodgy keyboard. That doesn't affect reading for ebooks, but it makes me hesitant to purchase online apps which still exist, such as http://www.amazon.com/www.amazon.com/dp/B004W4AGUY - I havent yet played around with the amazon store, but i'm assuming there's a way to move content from an older kindle to a new kindle. At least books. I'm not sure if that counts with apps. And not even sure if all older apps work on all newer kindles for that matter (there are complaints for that very game not working on the HDX). Plus with the recent firmware update requirements I wonder if at some point it wont even be possible to do it through amazon.
My understanding is that ebooks are DRM'ed with something unbreakable locking them to one amazon kindle. But is that also the case with software? |

Most books can be sent to 6 devices and some are unlimited. Now there are a few books that because of the uploaded format they are only compatible with certain devices. As of right now there are 9 or 10 kindles and apps for Android, Apple and PC. Or you can do what many here do, convert their books with Calibre. |

![]() FWIW, that particular Active Content lists the Keyboard as a supported device. ... No duh it won't work on the HDX. ![]() |

Again, this says nothing about applications. I only know about books. |

'Manage Your Content and Devices' page should list Active Content and let you send it to compatible devices. At least when I go to mine, it does. It won't do any good to copy it over if it is not compatible. Some apps for example, never support touch screens.
