How often do you read on your cell phone?
A couple of weeks ago, I upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy 3 to a Samsung Galaxy S7. It is, obviously, a much better phone, and I am finding that I'm reading on it pretty often.
It has a good screen, it's fast, I can read from Scribd on it. It's really convenient. If I'd had such a nice cell phone earlier, I don't think I'd have bothered with a Kindle Fire. It's small. That's the downside, but OTOH that's part of why it's so convenient. Plus I'm used to having it with me everywhere. I don't always think to tote an ereader around, but I always have my phone. How common is it to read on a cell phone here? |

I always have my Kobo H2O with me. I don't want to read on a phone. So never.

I think it's quite common. I read on my cell phone almost every day when I have small periods of time and it's convenient. I definitely read more on my phone since I upgraded to the iPhone 6S with a larger screen. It's great that the phone apps will easily sync with my e-ink readers or my iPads. I do read more on my iPhone and tablets than I used to because I have a Scribd subscription too and one of my libraries switched to 3M. It's more convenient to use their 3M iOS apps than download ePub files and transfer.

I read on my Note 4 every day. My Kobo H2O is My Prescious and isn't allowed to leave the house in case the evil dangers of the outside world attack it. My phone, on the other hand, has a protective case and goes everywhere with me. In addition to that, it's the only Kindle device I own, and I have a large Kindle library.
There's a reason I put the phone first in my list of reading devices. ![]() |

I only read on my phone (Note 4 for me too) if I have no other choice, I'm rarely without my Kindle.

Surprisingly often, I've taken a liking to Google Play Books, it is constantly synced and extremely easy to sideload books. I've even jailbroken a Sony PRS T-1 to run Android so I have an e-ink option as well. I find it easy to read on my Sony Xperia Ultra and Samsung Note 3.

All the time! It's always with me...it's super easy to update...I don't have to carry more than one device....
...My current phone displays 32 lines at a time...I guess if you increase the font size enough I could get it down to 10 lines, but then the font would be so large that I'd only get two words per line... I suppose if I was trying to study a book I'd want a bigger display, but If I'm just reading for fun then I really don't care how many lines are on the display...when my eyeballs get to the end of the screen I click/tap/shake/whatever and a whole new screen of words appear...and some apps even have auto-scroll so there is never an end to the screen! |

I do. That's how I started e-reading, until Agency destroyed the little ebookstores.
I generally have something going in iBooks - usually nonfiction. It's a cinch to download from my Calibre library on Dropbox. My eInk readers generally stay home, except for long car rides when the SONY comes out. Mostly fiction on those. |

Occasionally. I have a phone with a 6 inch screen and it is quite comfortable to read on, though I much prefer e-ink. But it is not uncommon for me to be caught somewhere without an ereader, in which case I cheerfully use the phone. The last example was Saturday night when I got to a restaurant a little early and my friends were late. I sat at the bar and enjoyed a drink and 20 minutes or so reading on my phone. Certainly no hardship.

I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and it is my main ebook reader.
I love that it is always with me. While I think e-ink is a bit easier to read, I just can't justify carrying a second device when the smart phone works just fine. |

Never. If I only have my iPhone with me, I check email or play solitaire.
