Books in Calibre without formats
I don't know how or when this happened but I went to open a book to read that was listed as being in calibre and got an error of Cannot view (Name of the book, has no available formats.).
The Title, Author, tags etc. are all there. Is there a easier way to get the formats back in without having to add each book back in and then take the book without format out? |

Use the Check Library tool (in the Library icon dropdown, under Library Maintenance) and report back with the results.
I suspect you have integrity errors. |

How did you fix them? Do the books you want show any formats in the Book Details pane? If not, did they used to?

The check tool will NOT complain about 'Empty Books' (Deliberate No Formats)
It complains when it believes there ARE and can't find, or finds ones that don't belong Dropping the (absolutely, fer-sure, correct) Book into the DETAILS pane is the way to maintain what you have already. There is no wrong book error trapping, the reason for the 'fer-sure' ![]() |

I overcome that to some degree by always doing the DnD from the desktop - even tho' it means copying the file to the desktop and removing it afterwards.
