problem in updating tpo 5.7.4

my kindle verison was 5.7.2 and i updated the kindle .after that i went to setting device still it was 5.7.4!!!!!!!!

If your firmware version changed from 5.7.2 to 5.7.4 after you updated to 5.7.4, then what is the problem? More details please..

i updated my kindle to 5.7.4 but after completing the installation i went to setting device info it is still 5.7.2.

Your first post said 5.7.4 after update. The update can fail if not enough free storage space (e.g. too many books). Sometimes an update does not change the version number shown in settings. Are you certain that update was packaged for your device?

tnx guys. i did it. reset factory the device and update was done. but i havent seen any changes . did u see any changes in this new update???

yes it did. it is now 5.7.4. but there is no changes compare to 5.7.2

Now that you successfully updated to 5.7.4, you can update to 5.7.4.1
There is nothing new though, just the usual "improvements".

whats the point of this whole new version while it has no different with previous one. i had the problem of disappearing words in pdf file that has been converted from djvu to pdf .

Did you read knc1's post above? Read his quote from amazon, explaining the differences from the previous firmware version. Just because you cannot see any GUI changes does not mean there were NO changes. The GUI framework is just a program that runs on top of a huge amount of code that includes the linux kernel, the device drivers, the rest of the operating system, and a pile of custom amazon/lab126 scripts and accessory programs and utilities. Any (or many) of these software components could have been updated to newer better (or worse) versions during the recent firmware update. What you see is NOT all you get...
