				Jailbreaking and such

			Hello,

I'm new to the Kindle Paperwhite. I've looked through the internet and this forum, but I don't seem to see the reason for jailbreaking a paperwhite. Can someone link or explain the following: 1. What are the benefits of jailbreaking a Kindle Paperwhite? 2. Can you jailbreak a Paperwhite if you have version 5.7.3? 3. Is it possible to take all my personal information off of my Paperwhite and have it not connected to wifi, but still put e books on it? If so, how? I love using the kindle, but my biggest issues are the adds and it knows too much personal information and then tries to post that info publicly. Once I realized that it updates automatically when you go on wifi, I have not put the device on wifi since. I keep it in airplane mode. If someone could point me to the right forum post that explains the above, that would be so awesome. I may be using the wrong words to search for the right answers. Thanks much! |

First Never ever use your normal email when signing up for things. Have a second (or more) email that you can use that has few if any correct facts. A credit card might be necessary, though usually not, but not all the other stuff. When asked, give incorrect information. A secondary email will prevent most problems. |

Via the hacks posted here, you can fake register, and/or use the Block Big Brother firewall, and/or the collections management hacks. |

I am slowly figuring this all out! I'm on an island right now and trying the serial port method won't work for me until I'm back on the mainland. Looking forward to that. In the meantime, I figured out how to get books from my PC to my Kindle. Thanks again! Last edited by sam555; 04-19-2016 at 04:59 AM. |
