The Time Cavern - now under $4 (20% off retail and 69% paperback)...

Amazon has discounted the kindle version of The Time Cavern to under $4. Check out the book trailer on the Amazon site.

Reviews have been good...

It continues to get good reviews and good buzz over on the lulubookreview board. Also, it will be the featured book in October at the young adult book review website flamingnet. It's number 12 on Barnes and Noble online science fiction / children's fiction.
Other ebook sites have it for under $4 now like books on board. Enjoy.

Anyone know what the difference is between the two Kindle editions? One appears to be published via Border's, while the other is "Cavern Press".

Both appear to be self-published uploads ... so, the guy is definitely out promoting the piece (this is the second time I've seen the book plugged in two days).

There's nothing wrong with self-promotion. But is it available in PRC? Has anyone read it and recommended it yet?

Just think of what you would be missing, if it is something you really would love, BUT I hated it, said so and you didn't read it. There are lots of books I love but others hate, and vice-versa. Never let others decide for you!

DixieGal, there is a prc version. This was the first version created for mobipocket - this also became one of the versions on Amazon. There were some slight tweaks to this version for the Kindle which is why there are two versions on Amazon. Others had recommended considering two versions because of slight differences on the way a Kindle displays. Unfortunately, I do no have a Kindle and use mobireader for the ebooks I have.
Sorry for any confusion. Thank you for your consideration.

Todd,

Which of the two versions at Amazon is the one tweaked for the Kindle? Are there any big differences? Maybe different graphics or table layouts?

The kindle version is here. No big changes - just some spacing and such. Honestly, it was difficult to tell because I don't have a kindle and I had to use the Amazon "tool". Mobipocket's software is much easier. Samples are available from this version and the mobi version..

If there is anything you notice on the Kindle appearance to note, please let me know.

Thanks.

Mobipocket promotion $3.50...

Thanks again to desertgrandma for reading and reviewing The Time Cavern and to all the support from others here. Mobipocket has a promotion on the ebook for $3.50 until the end of August.

I first downloaded a sample from Amazon, out of curiosity. The first paragraph got me hooked......so I bought the book. Todd tells me he's marketing it for the 9-12 yr old set......(correct me if I'm wrong here) and I think its perfect for them. Its also a great 'light' read for an adult.

So, my own quick thoughts. Written from a 10yr olds point of view, "Time Cavern" tells the adventures of two friends trying to unravel the mystery of a boy who went missing 100 years past. How they go about it, and what they learn along the way makes the story move right along.
Mr. Fonseca throws in a LOT of information about different cultures, (Amish), science (gasses and what they do) responsibility, even astronomy, weaving it all seamlessly into an interesting story that should hold the interest of any young science fiction fan. I guess thats what I like best about this book. By the time a young person has finished it, he'll come away with more than just a good read. He'll come away knowing a little more about the real world. And thanks to the great ending, he'll be looking forward to more adventures with Aaron and Jake.

Here's wishing success for you, Mr. Fonseca!

Per DGs review I want to get it. But on amazon there are two. One dated June 22 one date Jun 24th. Is one better than the other?

Bob,
The content is identical in both, some slight formatting differences between the two. For the version on June 22 (B001BIN0V6), this was created using mobipocket's mobicreator software. The June 24th version was made specifically with the Kindle viewer online tool. I use mobireader for my ebooks and don't have a Kindle, so I'm not sure how well the Kindle online viewing software represents what is really on the kindle screen. Content is identical in any case. Thank you for your interest!
