Kindle firmware 5.7.4
Kindle firmware 5.7.4 is available for download. (Thanks to Archibald Yates for the heads-up.)

No indication of new features.

ETA: I installed it on my PW2 and haven't found anything different yet.

ETA2: My device isn't jailbroken so I don't know if the new release impacts that.

I installed it on my 6th and 7th generation Paperwhites and on my Voyage. I also see no difference. I spent a few minutes on the Voyage looking for something new but I didn't find anything.

I might have been better off to update one and compare it with the others but I'd already updated them all before I looked seriously for differences.

I absolutely hate the new update. My books do not show up when I want to add them to a collection. It takes them hours sometimes to show up after I have copied them via usb. And the worse part, I am told I can't go back. This really sucks.

LOL! Yep, I miss the dots too, or rather the option to display them if desired. It was a simplistic, totally visual representation of where you were in a book, much like looking to see where the book/page marker is located in a closed, printed book. Simple, but very functional.

I just followed the link to download the update and noticed this note. It might have been there for a long time. But maybe it is related to this update. Not sure, just thought I would pass it along.

I updated both my voyage and my PW2 without any issues. I do not see any changes. But it did say it was a performance update. I do not see any performance changes either.

No, this is about 5.6.1.1 etc. The "death date" upon which Kindles with older firmware cease being able to connect was March 21st, I think. So long past.

Is it new that they post the source code for the Kindle Firmware? I can only imagine the DeDRM folks would find that useful.
