Improvement to kindle send to device
Would it be possible to make send to device set the last modified timestamp of the mbp file on a kindle 3 to the same as the book itself? Updated books show as New in the kindle list, but are sorted based on the last read time (from the mbp file - file modified time or some field in the mbp data?), with no easy way to find them.

IIRC the kindle driver writes the page count information into the mbp file so if you set that up it should happen automatically. (Right click the device icon and choose configure this device).

Won't work -- the Kindle tracks the data for sorting by "Recent" in the internal database (/var/local/cc.db on the system partition).
Try deleting and re-adding a book together with its mbp/etc. files -- you'll see the book gets bumped up to "most recent" regardless of where it was before or what was in the mbp file. |

eschwartz, if that's the case, would setting the file modified time to the same as the book itself work? like the linux "touch" command? (filesystem modified time, not inside the mbp) much like deleting and resending? or would the mbp need to be deleted to make that work?

As a minimal test case, `touch $userstore/documents/some-book.azw3` (even just using KUAL+kterm on a jailbroken device) works too -- the next time the Kindle is unmounted from a computer it will notice that the book has been "modified" and move it to the head of the list.
