Possible to copy/paste all metadata in single operation

Is it possible to copy and paste all metadata from one book to another in a single operation? I sometimes add copies of books to my library that are the same except for format. Having to manually download and then customize the data multiples times in getting old.

Thanks!

@Tim L - If by 'format' you mean what calibre refers to as format - PDF, TXT, EPUB - i.e. file type, then why don't you store the different format files in the same 'book' with Add Books->Add file to existing books (Shift A)

I've got the same question, but with badly-formatted epubs and better-formatted epubs.

1 of each FORMAT type can exist for the same book RECORD

The record Normally has the metadata, Polish, conversion, embed metadata are tools to embed that into the metadata compatible books

2 (versions) books of the SAME format, need a bit af care and trickery to avoid the 'Duplicates' trigger in Preferences: Adding books
