Return To Last Bookmark On Boot

Is there anyway to configure the Hanlin V3 to return to my last bookmark (i.e. the place I last stopped reading) on boot? It always returns to the Bookshelf on boot and I have to run through the menus to return to my last bookmark.

A co-worker with a Sony PRS505 says his device has this feature ...

I understand that you switch off the reader completely (holding the on/off buttons for two seconds).

Why don't you block it instead (with a short pressing of the on/off button)?. It is supposed to use very little power.

I don't switch off completely even at night.

Regards,

L.

Okay. I didn't know how much power it would use overnight, so I've been turning it completely off. I'll give locking a try. Thanks!

It should lasts for about 3-4 weeks even if you never turn it off completely. And you get quite useful time feature (for some file formats) in such a case.

I'tried it for few weeks. There is no difference. No matter you turn it off or just block (or leave unlocked) - V3 battery lasts for the same time.

If you do happen to turn it off completely. It's only two presses on the menu to get back to where you were, "1", to enter the Recent Books menu, then "1" again to open your last book.

I have to admit, I've been turning mine off overnight too. Had it three weeks now, reading between 50 and 100 pages per night and the battery has only just hit 50%. I want to see how long it takes to drop to 25% before I recharge then repeat keeping it locked rather than off.

Based on my current usage and battery life, I doubt I'd have to bother taking a charger with me on a two week holiday. Although since it's a usb charger/plug I'd probably take it anyway to top up my various other gadgets

When ebook is not activated (like changing page), the power consumed is almost negligible due to e-ink technology - the page remain as static image. Hence, my experience tells me going away for a week of holiday, reading 500 pages a day will not be any problem....and yes, JoeD is right, USB charger can work with any computer....
Cheers!
