I've recently had a chance to play with a Glo HD. My impression, really just based on holding it, setting it up, and loading books on to it- it's -LIGHT-, it's very responsive, and seems nice and crisp.
I haven't read on it, since it's not my device. That said, I love the screen size of my H2O, even more so since patches let me use more of it. I don't think I can go back to a smaller screen at this point. The micro SD card slot is also nice since it means even if I reset my H2O when I'm away from home I still have all my books since I've got them loaded on the SD card. |

You might want to wait, a recent article, linked to here mentions a number of reasons to expect new devices and/or lower pricing for ereaders.

I have both devices, and I def. like the Glo HD screen better. The screen size of the Aura HD, on the other hand, is super nice.

To answer the OP's question, I have an Aura H20 and a Glo HD (and I've owned an Aura HD in the past). Even though the Glo HD has a higher pixel density, the former looks better to me due to better contrast and less ghosting. The Glo HD is much lighter though. But the screen looks cramped when comparing to the Aura. If you want something more portable or if your arm gets cramped holding the Aura HD, then I would buy the Glo HD. If you were looking just because you thought it would look better, I would not buy it for that reason. It does not look better. |

I first bought the glo HD as a spare wheel to the aura H2O, but it rapidly became my main reader: the screen is slightly better (probably more if compared the aura HD but I can't since my aura HD died before), the lighting is better, and it is easier on my hands for one-handed reading. Recently, I've returned to the H2O for non convertible PDFs and poetry with long lines, and I realized I preferred the H2O screen in low lighting, and it is now my reading in bed device for everything.

I know this article was a while back now, but I'm smiling, having just read a few minutes ago about Kindle's new device that will retail (here in Australia) for nearly $500. So much for readers getting cheaper, eh? ;-) |

It seems most of the people in mobileread are having more than one ebook reader.
Why do you guys need more than one? |

![]() Apart from my smart-ass answer there are a few reasons. The simplest is that we bought one, used it for a while, and then bought a better one. That's the excuse I used. Another reason is "gadget buying addiction". And there are a few people here who seem to not be able to decide on a device and just keep trying another. And the people here are not the average reader. They are more likely to be interested in the technology than others. So, it's likely they will have more than one device. |

I bought them one at a time. My H2O is my everyday reader, my son has a Kobo Glo, and our Aura sits waiting in case one of us breaks a reader. My iPad is for comics and the occasional PDF, and the other readers I list are family members' readers that I provide tech support for.

I have Kobos in 3 sizes....Mini, Glo HD and Aura HD. I like the size variety. (Plus my son has an old Kobo Touch that he hardly uses, and my daughter a Glo, which she hasn't been using).

I have three devices I use for reading: my Aura H2O for novels, my Playbook for gaming PDFs, and my Asus FHD 10 for comic books.
I really need to replace the FHD 10 though. The digitizer is registering phantom touches and it makes it impossible to read stuff sometimes. |
