Edit Metadata - Hide Toolbars permanently?
I just switched computers. I'm now running Calibre 2.52 on Windows 10.
Almost everything seems fine, but I have one huge irritation. In the Edit Metadata screen the Comments field and my two custom metadata text fields now have a editing toolbars. I do not want them. For my custom text fields, the bar takes up three very large lines. I have figured out I can right click and get rid of them (one by one), but that only lasts for that edit and then the toolbars are back again. I do not have my old computer available to me to see what settings might be different or how it looks exactly. If they were there on the old system they certainly weren't so LARGE. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the toolbars permanently or make the setting at least stick for a session? Gone forever is OK with me. If I want to edit I can switch HTML source. Thanks! Judy |

Simply right click in the main are of the comments and choose hide toolbars. It is not permanent, but it will stay as long as you keep clicking the next button in the edit metadata dialog. Closing the dialog will cause it to reset.
AS far as I remember, that has been the case since time immemorial. |

Thanks for the reply. It means right clicking for every book I edit, which is all books that I enter.
If it has been there, then they must have been MUCH smaller before. Now for my little text boxes, it takes up a full half of the window (custom metadata on same tab as basic metadata). Comments is not so bad because it strings out along the top. Is there any way to change the size (or number) of those icons? |
