				ft recipe financial_times_us.recipe

Hi, for the last 2 months, I have had a cron job download the ft on a daily basis and send it to my kindle using ebook-convert. Some 10 days ago, it stopped working with an error as follows (this error is repeated multiple times and then the program stops writing to output):

	Code:
Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages/calibre/web/fetch/simple.py", line 436, in process_images File "site-packages/calibre/utils/magick/__init__.py", line 133, in load ValueError: Cannot open image from empty data string Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages/calibre/web/fetch/simple.py", line 436, in process_images File "site-packages/calibre/utils/magick/__init__.py", line 133, in load ValueError: Cannot open image from empty data string Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages/calibre/web/fetch/simple.py", line 436, in process_images File "site-packages/calibre/utils/magick/__init__.py", line 133, in load ValueError: Cannot open image from empty data string To my knowledge, I have not changed anything in my calibre setup or in my ft account. I run calibre and ebook-convert on ubuntu 15.10. Any ideas? Thank you, Piet |

Thank you for your fast reply. I looked more into it and the download works, but the e-mail does not.

Sorry to have bothered you with this: I now executed the send (calibre-smtp) separately and get an error message from google about size limits.

The reason I had not noticed before is that I had an output redirect on the ebook-convert command but not on the calibre-smtp. Google has a 25MB limit on attachments and the ft.mobi is larger than that. I need to first put it on Google Drive and send from there. Thank you for your help. Case closed. One remaining question: can the recipe reduce the size of the .mobi file somehow? Last edited by piet8stevens; 03-05-2016 at 04:58 AM. |
