When did Amazon stop allowing me to read on my computer?
I went looking for a few books from Gateway at Amazon UK. I saw that I was unable to download to Kindle for PC. I could download to my iPhone or use Kindle Cloud Reader. These are books that have typesetting enabled.

I was able to go to Kobo and set myself for India and buy from there no problem and I got a nice box standard ePub.

So what is up with Amazon? Do they really want to lose sales?

If someone has a Kindle, does that mean then that the eBook can be downloaded as KF8?

Why do you think you can't use Kindle for PC to read it? When I look at the link, it specifically says that I can read it with the Kindle for PC App. Are you saying that you bought it but were unable to download it to your Kindle for PC app?

Unfortunately, I can't buy it or get a sample sent to my PC because I'm not in the UK.

I thought it was still kind of a no-no to buy ebooks from Amazon if you aren't in the geographical area? Perhaps that is why the downloading is restricted? I myself, being in the US, have never purchased anything from the UK site.

The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction says that it's not compatible with the Kindle for PC app, so when they cancelled my Fictionwise subscription, I just gave up on it.

I couldn't find that particular book at .com. His location says Massachusetts.
