Post Backing Up Calibre

Hi Everyone,
I started a thread about moving my library to another computer. But still confused about the process. However, thats later the first thing that I need to do is back up my calibre library. I've never done that its 19.7 gb and I want to put it on my wd external hard drive. I am not a computer person. The reason why I love Calibre is its just point and click and everyting is done. So when I read stuff like configuration and stuff like that im like HUH. PLEASE. HELP.
My first instinct is just to copy and paste. But I don't think that is right. What do I have to do to get the library on the hard drive.

To transfer the library thats not really clear either. I wish someone would make a video. I'm very good with that. But anyway. When you choose the import/export what happens after that? If I have my other computer connected via a usb cord would the calibre folder transfer over if I click import/export in the new computer?

Thank you

You can do a simple copy/paste of a library folder to back up a library. You can back up settings by doing a copy/paste of the settings folder.

Some people use sync type products (e.g SyncToy, FreeFileSync) so that once you have made the first backup you can copy just the changed files in the future as that tends to be a lot faster.
