Remove all Tags
When I was first started with Calibre I did not realize the potential of correct tags for my books. So I just let any tag download. As a result I have one hot mess of tags for my books that make absolutely no sense what so ever! I would like to start over and tag them correctly for me.
Is there an easy way to go through and erase all the tags on all my books at once? Then I can go through and fix them one by one. Oh, and is there a way to download JUST tags like you can front covers?

Right Click

Select - Edit Metadata

Select - Edit Metadata in Bulk

Remove Tags - Check Remove All at right side

There is no button to download just tags but you can configure the Metadata Download to do so.

On the Edit Metadata screen at the bottom you have Download Metadata and Configure Download Metadata. Click Configure Download Metadata.

On that screen you can select your preferred sources for metadata. I have the Goodreads metadata plugin installed which is my preferred metadata source.

In the Download Metadata Fields area unselect everything but Tags.

I also suggest selecting the Prefer Fewer Tags option which is found on the right hand side.

Click Apply

Now when you go to download metadata it will show you all of the available metadata but it will only download the tags.

Thank you, I have applied the Fewer Tags option!
I would love to be able to just download tags. I have my books/series all labeled exactly like I want them (even some of my Author Sorts are weird) and would hate them to accidentally messed up downloading tags.

Ctrl-D click Metadata Only

Then click REVIEW

You click each of the the Arrows in the center to use your OLD values




Fine for small quantities... But

Configure the selected DOWNLOAD sources to only use Tags

ALSO disable as many Other source sites as you can
