published dates before feb 0101 CE
I have several books in my library which were published before February 101 CE, some of which were published in the BCE era. I want my metadata to be as accurate as possible. However, that doesn't possible with dates. 0101-01-01 seems mean 'no date' according to Calibre, and Calibre doesn't accept any dates before that, reverting it back to whatever the previous metadata claims. Is there a way to work around this?

The only workaround I know of is to put the date as a string into a text-type custom column. Sorting this column will present challenges because the BCE dates run backwards while the CE dates run forwards.
