Protect Books in Library from being deleted

How do you protect your books in your Calibre library from being deleted by a guest browsing through your books. Is there a sort of guest account on Calibre where users can only read the contents in your library?

Do not let them use Calibre directly. Instead start up the Calibre server and let them use a browser to look through the library.

- with elaboration

@Library2016 - give the guests access via the ==>> calibre-server feature.

You can start the server from Preferences>Sharing over the net, but you don't get the degree of control you get with the command line - but it's a good way to get a feel for the feature.

If guest are carrying a device that has a browser - eg a smart phone or tablet, and you're willing to give them access to your local WiFi network, then they could browse the library with their own devices.

If using Windows (and I assume something similar could be done with the Linux derivative O/Ss) you could try creating a non-Administrator Guest User Account in Windows that had only "Read" permission for the directory/folder that your Calibre Library is in. Your guests would use that user account.

That will not work. The main Calibre program will not work correctly if does not have full read/write access to the Calibre library files. Using the calibre server is the way to go.
