Battery failing...replacement possible?
Hi all,

My Kobo Glo is knocking on a bit now, but I'm loathe to part with it just yet. The problem is that the battery loses charge quickly, even on standby (wifi off). I can leave it for a few days after a full charge and come back to it showing very low battery level or even completely flat. I suspect the battery is way past its best.

Is there a cheap option to replace the battery in these? I'm happy removing the back and even soldering if needed. I wondered if anyone here has experience doing it and was it worth the effort?

The other option is to replace the Glo, but as the reader itself is still working well it seems a bit of a waste.

One cheap option might be to look for someone selling a Glo with a broken screen; canablaize the battery and you're all set.

a bit of a waste is an understatement, i do hope you manage to get a replacement battery and solder it in without damaging the Glo.

Thank you so much for all the links and suggestions! It looks like a fairly easy swap out of the battery, so I shouldn't need to retire the Glo just yet
