Apparently Amazon have officially updated their Kindle Voyage and are now selling new units without the discoloured displays. Also some small news on the possible direction of the Kindle Voyage 2...

I guess I am one of the lucky owners of voyage my screen is great and has been from the beginning, and I also have a PW2 that does not have any issues with the screen.

Note that the article isn't talking about a revision to the Kindle Voyage. Just that the Kindle Voyages now on sale have better quality control on the displays, so they have a more uniform light.

It is NOT the case that Amazon have announced/launched a Kindle Voyage 2.

No. I bought mine in Feb, and had it replaced. The one I have now looks fine. I like it, but it was too much money for what it is. I feel I'd have done better spending the money on a Kobo H2O. But that's beside the point. I have a $200 Voyage and I'll never spend that much on a Kindle again.

I was lucky. Mine was just fine from the start. I've had it for over a year now and it's my main e-ink screen.

I do think it was a bit pricey, but I've gotten my use out of it this last year. They'd have to really upgrade it before I'd get a new one. Unless this one breaks.

For me, it's not a new, better screen I'd look for. But a better OS that can handle large numbers of books better, and an easier way to make collections. Mine gets really slow and very sluggish when it gets full.

Oh, and more font choices.

I have had mine for a year. Mine doesn't have any color issues. Its even and perfect. And yes, I'd know what issues look like as I had many with the PW1.

But I am glad I have one of the good ones. Sounds not like any update, but more of a making sure those going out are checked well? Guess mine was checked a year ago.

If anything were to happen to my Voyage, I would buy another one right away. I like it that much. The screen, the design, the feel and the buttons. No other e-ink device out there has all the features and customer service. So for me is a no-brainer. But mine still works fine so I don't need another one.

No, I can't justify $200 dollars when I have two perfectly good eink readers already, but I REALLY WANT a new Voyage, so if someone wants to buy one FOR ME, you will get all sorts of gratitude and positive thoughts from me in return.

Nope.

But its existence continues to amuse me. I like going to Google Analytics and looking at the hit stats.

I did get some small amount of bitcoin once from some stranger, but it came to a different address, not the one on that page, so I have no idea what that was about.

The page is real, that is, if anyone wants to give me money for some reason, they can, but I hope I made it tongue-in-cheek enough that no one would think it's some actual charity.

A rather sloppily written report. He quoted the e-ink rep saying "as we put out more product, we learned to better control our ink". But he'd just said the problem was the light (layer), not the display. Also not clear is whether e-ink Corp supplies the light layer along with display.

I've been monitoring the Voyage reviews on Amazon and the number of people complaining about the screen issues is about the same as before...

My wife got me a Voyage for Xmas and the display is perfect to my eyes. No odd coloring and the lighting is even. Of course I'm coming from a 1st generation Paperwhite and the difference is night and day.

The article referenced by the OP has since been edited.... my guess is that references to possible defective Voyage screens stepped on Amazon's toes... the article's author does have a link to a Kindle Customer forum..

Did she get it from Amazon directly? I looked at one from Best Buy in late December and it was very blotchy. Perhaps I should try another from Amazon.
