Revert to native collections interface
I installed Collections Manager 2.7.7 on my Kindle PW2 5.4.5 and ever since I'm unable to use the Kindle's native interface to manage collections (e.g., adding an item to a collection). It becomes stuck and I have to reboot the Kindle. How can I use the native interface again?
Thanks. |

That doesn't sound right.
CM is not supposed to crash the native UI, and indeed I don't see how it could unless it was running at the time. Although I have noticed that as your collections grow, the native UI gets slower and slower and slllllllllllloooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwe eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Maybe that is your problem. |

Well, actually it's not a crash. I didn't explain it enough, my bad. When I tap "Add to collection", the following will happen:
- A warning like "will not be synced to the cloud" shows up and I tap ok (I use it offline) - The screen listing the collections with the checkboxes show up. I select the collection(s) into which I want to add the item then tap Done. But it won't exit this screen no matter how many times I tap Done or the Home button or the < button. It does not "freeze", just can't exit this screen. I have to go into Settings, then Restart. |

I did say, it can get very slow.
![]() The "good" news is, it was going to be slow whether you added CM or not. Personally I find the native collections UI to be unrewarding. ![]() |

I waited until it shut itself off. About one hour later, I turned it on and there it was on the same screen, so I rebooted it.
Anyway, I gave it up. Whatever it is, I'm better off with CM anyway. |

I just found out that the issue I described happens only to collections that were modified by CM. By modified I mean having items added to or removed from. I deleted all collections and recreated them using the Kindle's native interface and it works fine now. Probably CM has a bug when writing the collection records, corrupting them in such a way that the Kindle firmware gets confused when it attempts to modify them. Probably it's the same issue referenced in the CM thread:
