Scalable maps
Is it possible to add scalable maps to epubs using Sigil? I'm aware that you can do it with pdf books and I've seen it with the occasional Amazon book; for example Joe Abercrombie's The Heroes has maps that you can enlarge and drag around.

Zoomable images that you can pan around on are usually a function of the reading app/device. There's typically nothing to be "done" to an image--or the epub--to make it work. There's certainly nothing Sigil-specific (that I know of) that can be done to facilitate it.

Thanks for the reply. It looks like I will have to use the rather clumsy work around of adding the map as a pdf file to the ereader and switching to it when necessary. Fortunately, it's only for my personal use so I won't have to worry about anyone else.

I don't really thnk that should be necessary. What device/app are you reading with that doesn't support panning & zooming images?

It's normally as simple as adding an image that's larger than the resolution of the device screen. Most devices will automatically scale it down to the correct size for display, but let you expand it to view it at a larger size.

![]() In other words, as far as I know no ADE-based device (most non-Kindle e-ink readers) supports this. |

And I only read epubs with tablet apps (primarily an RMSDK-based one) with which it "just works," so there you have it!

Marvin also works with a double tap on the image... It goes into "Image Viewer" mode. Unfortunately I don't remember what renderer it uses.
