Saving Series name, keeping "the" at start
I have my library set up to save to disk as:
{author_sort}/{#Series}/{#series} Book {series_index} - {title} So if a series like The Stone gets saved the final result is: Stone, The/Stone, The Book 1 - title I've been messing with this for a long time, trying to set up the custom field My Series ends up with the same result. Is it possible to have the template set up so it keeps the name of the series exact? would like it to look like: The Stone/The Stone Book 1 - Title |

You know, I've been working on this for months. Not diligently, just on and off, but like right after I give up and finally post the question I end up finding the answer...

One option would be to change the tweak ("Set the list of words considered to be "articles" for sort strings") - then you get the series with the article. However, the tweak affects the titles, too ('Stone, The' as the title_sort for 'The Stone' will be highlighted in read instead of green from now on, and "The Stone" will be the title_sort created automatically in the "Edit metadata" dialog.
I don't know whether there is a less 'invasive' solution available. In fact, I'm surprised by this kind of file saving behavior, considering that all series starting with articles a, an, the are sorted alphabetically under A/T, and not under the first letter of the second word. // EDIT Haven't seen your second post. I'm glad you've found the way to make Calibre do what you want it to do ![]() Last edited by Joanna; 12-29-2015 at 12:02 PM. |

Yeah, I believe I need to use Raw_Field(name) in the template, but for some reason I can't seem to get that to work right. I might not understand exactly what that is, as I mostly just copy a lot of the stuff that I find here...
For now though changing the tweak, saving to disk and then flipping it back is solving my issues... |
