Has My T1 Fallen Off This Mortal Coil

Bought a book from Kobo (Commander in Chief by Clancy ) and downloaded it to my Reader for PC program on my laptop but when I tried to transfer it over to my T1 it didn't go and now my T1 shows no books at all. Also, when I plug it into my laptop now, it doesn't show on the Reader file. I still get My Library (Where all my books including the Clancy book) and the Kobo Bookstore tab. But my T1 does not show at all.

Any suggestions? Have had the T1 since 2010 and this is the first issue I've had with it

Try using Calibre to access your T1.

Hmmm, not sure how to do this. When I plug my Sony into my laptop, it does not show in the Sony eReader program like it used to. It just shows My Library and Kobo Bookstore but does not show the eBook Reader, like it used to.

Have tried it both in the Data Transfer Mode and the regular mode. Neither works. What specifically should I do?

Do you have Calibre installed? The Sony software for the T1 is crap. Run Calibre without any Sony software running and that includes the pogram that runs to start the Sony software when you plug in the T1. Then plug in the T1 and see if Calibre recognizes it.

I recently found out that OS compatibility bricked my T1 kobo is looking into an update, might wanna check it out. My reader software opened and showed my library but locked up every time I tried to transfer books, I plugged in to an older Os And all was good...JJ

Tried sending books directly from Calibre and, although it says Calibre is connected to the Sony Reader, no books show up on the Reader.

Would appreciate any advice

Uninstall the Sony software. It's garbage. Install Calibre and you will be able to use your T1 again. You won't find Kobo updating the Sony software. Do you listen when someone who has the experience to know these things says what to do to solve your problem?

This is on the computer. The You uninstall eBook Library and install Calibre. But make a copy of your eBooks before you uninstall.

Already have Clibre installed and, in the past have moved books from it to the Sony Reader. So, I assume I just need to move the Sony Reader app and associated books to the recycle bin. Then assume I plug the T1 into the laptop ( Tosiba running Windows 10) and some how it will link to theCalibre.

Also would move all my Sony books to Calibre.

Am I getting close?

You should be able to uninstall the Sony eBook Library from the add/remove programs in the control panel. But before you do so, move the eBooks to Calibre. I don't know if the directory where the eBooks live would be deleted as part of the uninstall.

I bought my T1 after having Kobo wifi and kobo touch.most all of my books are free epub books without DRM. I can have all my books on a ereader and connect to new computer with Calibre installed. It is then easy to sync Kobo reader with Calibre and transfer books to new computer. Only first have to run calibre welcome wizard in Calibre preferances so it knows how to interfase with your Kobo reader. This always works. I only transfer no more than 500 books each time. This way I don't have long waiting time before transfer completion.
