Title sort option failing at bulk metadata edit

Hi,

I haven't found any post with this problem but, as I can have skipped it, please, tell me where is it.

When I'm using bulk metadata edit and I choose "Title sort", there are some situations where it works and other ones where the title sort is still wrong. I haven't found any pattern but I'm thinking that it's related to use the search & replace feature too in the same bulk edit.

Any help will be appreciated.

If you check the "update title sort" box and do a search/replace in the same bulk edit, then the order of evaluation matters. When you press OK, calibre first honors the check box, updating the title sort in the database. It then does the search replace, meaning that the S/R will see the updated value and potentially overwrite it.

It is easy to see ways that this process could produce unexpected results.

Thank you for confirming my suspicion (just got at this moment when I was trying to describe the problem). I'll take it into account from now on. It's not a problem, problem is not being aware of it.
