Kindle PW 2 - wifi not working

Strangely, the wifi on my kindle pw 2 recently stopped working. It starts up intermittently, but then goes away.

I have rebooted it, reset it, restarted the router all to no avail.

I have a portable wifi, but it doesn't connect to that either.

Running firmware 5.6.5. Network is Wireless B/G, channel 7 (2.442GHZ), wpa.

I have a number of other devices including linux machines, phones, and other devices all of which seem to connect with no problem.

Any ideas? Could there be some other interference which effects only the Kindle?

Did you restart the modem or just the router?
How did you reset?
How did you reboot?

Did you try resetting the password for your wifi on the paperwhite?

Have you had a power glitch recently or while the wifi was turned on your paperwhite?

I had a similar thing happen. Paperwhite 2 had been on house wifi for years.

All of a sudden it could not connect.

Reset PW, no change.
Reset router, I could get on. Yay!
Reset router again due to internet issues and I could not get on. Sadness.
Found an unlocked wifi signal and got on it to check, it got on. I couldn't really use it, because it required a logon from a browser, but it connected.

Finally I created a portable hotspot with my phone and it worked.

I'm completely baffled but my husband says things stop working if he resets the router, I think we need a new router.

But if your PW doesn't work on other wifi networks, it sounds like your PW may be the issue.
