Sigil > MOBI on ADE

My source is Google Doc > HTML. I then, add the HTML to Sigil.

The issues I see in the resulting MOBI on ADE are the following:
  • Images not converted, or, duplicated (but not duplicated in the source)
  • <OL> formatting not being converted

Are these two issues symptomatic of something? What should I do/check to correct these two issues?

TIA,

Rob

The phrase "the resulting MOBI on ADE" makes no sense. ADE does not read MOBI.

If you're talking about EPUB on ADE (and not a MOBI conversion) and are having trouble with images not being displayed/included, then we'd need a bit more information.

If you're pasting html into Sigil, then any images in the original would need to be added manually to Sigil.

If you're Adding Existing html files to Sigil, then any linked images would need to be present (in the location relative to the html file that the src attribute of the img tag indicates) to be automatically pulled into the resulting Sigil Epub.

If you're asking something else, you'll need to be more clear. And if possible, include a small, non-copyrighted sample of the html you're trying to work with.

My bad, (first cup of coffee) it is EPUB on ADE.

Yes, I am Adding Existing HTML files with the image folder relative to that HTML file (on my desktop). The other issue re: <OL> is below.

This is an example of the <OL> that is not displaying in ADE

Seeing as how those elements have named class attributes, did the original css file make it into the epub along with the html file? There is bug in the current version that causes css files imported along with an html file to not always be linked properly. You could be experiencing that. It will be fixed in the next version, but you should be able to get around it by right-clicking the (x)html file in the Book Browser widget an manually linking the file(s) to the external css file.

Have you tried installing/running either of validation plugins to see what complaints they may have before trying the resulting epub in ADE?

Looking at the XHTML I see the STYLE sheet embedded in the <Head>.
The HTML zip download from Google Docs includes an HTML file and Images folder only.

SIGIL shows the OL properly.

If Sigil displays something properly but ADE doesn't; nine times out of ten it's due to a syntax error in the css (or there's css being used that ADE doesn't support). Sigil's WebKit renderer is more forgiving than ADE's--which ditches the css entirely when there'a syntax error. Wherever the error occurs.

The Tools-->Validate Stylesheets With W3C feature should be helpful in tracking down CSS issues.

I did the validate and it just hangs. Is it only for externally referenced stylesheets?

It doesn't open your default browser and go to the W3C website?
