Is there unobtrusive or surreptitious EPUB reading software?
Hi, I'm looking for a way to read e-books in a small window in a corner of the screen of a Windows desktop, displaying perhaps only a few lines at a time in a small font. Does anybody know of a reader software that can be configured to support this preference?
So far I'm using SumatraPDF, which is widely configurable, but does not support arbitrarily small window sizes, and displays whitespace, scroll arrows, menus etc. around the text, which I'd like to be able to get rid off. |

Calibre's book reader can be made arbitrarily small. I've just tried reducing it to a few lines in size and it works fine. It can be used independently of the main Calibre application.

For a surreptitious reader you could try the Epub Reader plugin for Firefox. Read your book in one tab with work related pages on the other tabs. When the boss comes by just switch tabs.

There was a surreptitious epub reader I encountered one time, but it was so surreptitious that I could never find it again. It may still be somewhere on my computer for all I know.

http://spacejock.com/yBook.html is what I used when I had a Windows based computer. It's free, lightweight, no frills.
