Troubleshooting Kindle Paperwhite 2 Losing Registration

My Paperwhite 2 keeps reverting to the previous owner after transferring books using Calibre. After the transfer of around 5 books I get a frozen white screen.

Contact the person u got it from & Make sure they Dereg it Off their account.

Sounds almost like the memory is failing, and changes aren't actually written to disk. Symptoms usually include books disappearing after a reboot.

Is the registration the only thing that keeps going back to the way it was?

And if the screen freezes and goes white, how do you know the registration changed?

There is no disk in a Kindle. It is memory, like a flash drive.
