Delphi Classics buy one, get one

I know Delphi Classics are pretty popular with some folks here. Was just on the site and saw they're offering a buy one get one free sale this weekend. I added a couple of books to my cart and the second one was automatically marked down so no coupon code or anything is needed.

On another note I notice a bunch of their titles are marked down to $0.99 on Amazon including Complete Works for Wells, Dickens, Verne, Conan Doyle, Kipling, Twain and more.

Yes, I got an email about it a couple of days ago. Great opportunity to stock up on some authors I'd not previously bought from Delphi!

I've been wanting Hillaire Belloc (not available to Europe) and was kicking myself for not picking up his books at MR before they went offline. Plus some of Trollope's Christmas stories that didn't seem to be available anywhere. Both mine now.

I'll take another look before the weekend's over, but those were my pressing wants.

I'm new to Delphi Classics (thank you!) but I'm not sure I'm understanding it correctly.

If I buy the single volume complete works (say, Trollope), it has everything listed in one single file. It's cheaper than the Parts option.

Does the Parts option contain *everything* that was in the complete works single volume, but they're broken up into individual files for easier Kindle management/I can choose which books specifically I'd like to download? I'd rather have the ease of use of the Parts (and don't mind paying for it) but want to make sure everything is included.

Also, the site mentions that for $1 more at time of purchasing the Parts edition, I can get the entire thing as a single file. Why would I want to do that?

Obviously, I'm not "getting" something; your help is appreciated!

Awesome. Kudos and karma. I didn't know about the 99 cents markdowns.

The only advantage of the "Parts" edition, that I can think of right now, occurs if you have your ebooks categorized and/or put under catalog headings (e.g., the Library of Congress') on your hard drive. With a "Parts" edition you have the book broken up into individual books, so you can move those individual books to different categories or put them under different catalog headings. Otherwise, you're stuck just putting the whole book somewhere, and you may not be able to find an individual book, which is of a subject that you're interested in, in that big book because you are not aware of its existence or have forgotten that it was there.

I hope that that makes sense. If not, let me know and I will try to make it clearer.

I downloaded the Robert Louis Stevenson parts edition when they offered it as a freebie to introduce the new parts editions. After downloading it, I decided that I preferred the "regular" editions with everything in one huge volume over the parts editions with dozens of individual titles in a large zip file. The total space taken by the parts editions is MUCH larger than the space taken by the regular edition, as EACH part has a cover, which unfortunately is the same for each book. So I've stuck with the regular editions.

Either way, Delphi has very reasonable prices, especially during a sale such as the current one.
