Go over the installation instructions and the explanation of the commands in this thread.

An update - now the Kobo is powered on sometimes in the plain rtf looking commands screen (probably the KSM), sometimes in the nickel starting page.
Do I stay in the last reader after powering off and go back to the KSM page just after connecting and disconnecting to a PC?
Also in Koreader I don't see how I can search the documents.

After KSM has started the first time, please change this behaviour:
•select "tools" > "activate" > "set runmenu settings.msh" > "always"

Under the top reader menu crossed screwdriver/wrench icon, there is a "Fulltext search" selection.
