Question Searching with Calibre not in a list now

When I used to search for an author or a book in Calibre it used to just show a complete list of what I asked for. All together.
Now it shows them all highlighted, but I have to scroll through my whole library to see them one by one.
Any help welcome.

Preferences: Searching: (second item down)

Some older plugins (not activly maintained) needed this mode and did not restore the old setting when done .

Thank you.
Im not at pc till later but clicking preferences then searching will that solve it?
Or do i have to click something else else once in searching?

It used to be fine & I always download plug ins if calibre tells me.

The Plugin that first caused this problem was Find Duplicates, and as far as I know it still causes the problem. Simplest thing to do is to show the Blues Bar button ==>> Some plugins, can change calibre's search highlighting and click it as and when necessary

Question It worked!

Thanks all - it worked yippee !!!!
I now get the search results I want

Is it normal for calibre to take ages to start?

I have only 750 books in it now. As moved the bulk of the ones I have read to an overflow folder.

Lots of deletions will leave invisible crumbs in the DB.
Run Library maintenance, it has a vacuuming stage as part of the check. Do checkout the FAQ at calibre-ebook.com (click Help in Calibre to get close to that)

There was a very long thread on this started by me a few months ago, the upshot of which was that, at least on some Windows machines, the long delay on startup was caused by the libraries used by Calibre triggering some kind of scan of Windows system files as they initialised for the first time. The solution was to run the Windows "Disk Cleanup" tool with "Administrator" rights and select the "Windows Update Cleanup" option. This, for me, reduced Calibre's startup time from about a minute and half down to a few seconds.

Hope this is of some help to you,
