Probably means they haven't indexed. Check to see if anything's got stuck indexing.

What do you mean, you "can't find them"? Is this when trying to add them to calibre? Are you looking in the "documents" folder on the device? Do you mean when viewing the library list on the Kindle? Which ones don't show up? |

Go to the home screen, tap the "Search" button, and enter a string of random letters as a search string. When you get the results back, if the "Text in Books" line is highlighted, tap it and you'll see a screen saying "10 (or whatever) items not yet indexed". Tap that line and it'll show you what the offending items are. You should wait until all items have completed indexing before adding any more. Indexing happens enormously more quickly with the Kindle connected to a wall charger. |

Ok. And when you sort the home screen by "Recent" sort order you don't see the newly-added books at the top of the list?

I believe that almost every time a 'missing book' has been reported in the past it was caused by a corrupt sideloaded book causing the Kindle to choke. The solution has been to remove the sideloaded books from the Kindle, verify the non-sideloaded books are all visible, and then add the sideloaded books back one at a time, or in small batches, to identify which book caused the problem.

@Katie1: Did you select On Device, All Items and Recent on the home screen? If so, the Kindle might have gotten stuck indexing. Try the following:
If you still don't see your books, you'll have to reset your Kindle. |
