Aura H2O won't display kepubs
I've been reading on my aura h2o for a few weeks now using mobis and epubs. Everything works fine, but I tried to convert a couple of books to kepub in calibre and put them on my reader and they are not displayed anywhere. It also does not show the processing screen after I eject the reader. Can anyone help me with this problem? I am using calibre 1.48 as it is the last one that will run on my computer thanks.

Are the kepubs actually copied to the device and does it show the processing screen when you disconnect? And where on the device do they go?

I tried putting them in both the sd card and straight on the device. When I eject and unplug it does not process them.

By "does not process them", do you mean the processing screen isn't shown, or is it shown and process other books?
In either case, have you looked on the device when it is connected to make sure the books are there? And what directory are they in? If the directory name starts with a dot (eg ".kobo") the device will not scan that directory and hence will not process any books in them. |

If I add them by themselves the processing screen does not show up at all. If I add them along with epubs the processing screen appears, but the kepubs are still invisible. When I connect my kobo back to my computer the kepub is still on both the internal memory and the sd card. I just drag and drop them onto the sd card and the kobo so I don't think they are in a directory. The drag drop is how I put all my books on my kobo because my computer can't get the newest version of calibre that has the software for my kobo.

@cocopuff,
Something else to clarify ... In post #1 you specifically mention having used calibre to convert to kepub. Did you also use calibre to send-to-device the kepubs to the Kobo? or did you just drag-drop them using the op.sys? If the latter then the books would be named incorrectly, i.e. mybook.kepub when it needs to be mybook.kepub.epub |

Thank you jackie that is exactly what the problem was! I did convert them in calibre, but since my computer is old as all get out I am forced to drag/drop instead of just sending them straight from calibre. I just changed the file name, and it popped right up. I figured it had to be something on my end since everything else has been great with this kobo.

You have to install the plugin manually. I haven't put it into the plugin list because I know as soon as I do I'll get a pile of questions about whether it is needed or why it stops something else from working. At this point, you cannot use the extended driver with this plugin. You will need to convert to kepub and send them to the device. And as jackiew said, if you have copied a kepub from calibre to the device and changed the extension to ".kepub.epub", it should be processed by the device as long as it isn't in a directory whose name starts with a dot. And the file name doesn't start with a dot. * Note to self: Update this to include the Touch 2 and the latest firmware versions. |
