Custom column - Comma separated text
As can be determined by the subject, I created a custom column of the type "Comma separated text, like tags, shown in the tag browser".
The column I created is to make shelves on my Kobo, so a book might be both Mystery and Romance, or Time Travel and Mystery, etc. When I need to enter multiple tags, I can write: - Mystery, Time Travel, Romance and three tags are created. Now that I'm using shelves, I would like the same functionality, but if I write the above, it only shows as one shelf "Mystery, Time Travel, Romance", rather than 3 separate shelves. I do try to keep them on just one shelf, but sometimes that just isn't possible. What have I missed or forgotten?? |

I've tried attaching an image and hope it works to show what happens. First part is Custom Column Tag Editor, and second is Tag Browser Editor (I've labelled in case I'm mistaken).
Note that after a system restart (for another reason) the shelves now appear in the Tag Browser as separate shelves (yay!), but the image still applies and they input as one in the Editor. Previously, even with multiple Calibre restarts, they did NOT appear in the Tag Browser at all. |

Tags should be separated by semicolons rather than commas. I like to include commas within tags, such as "Freud, Sigmund—Biography." The only way Calibre can handle this is to number the tags individually. Or am I wrong?

I think there's another problem. I have a text column behaving like text and the separator is ',', not ';'. Can you put a caption of the column definition?
