Custom Column Title Only

When I import a lot of my books from Amazon the metadata brings in the title with series information. I have unfortunately figured out it needs to stay this way. What I would like to do is create a custom column that keeps the title and strips out the series information but I can't seem to figure out how.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

It doesn't need to stay that way. You can use the series column to put in the series name and number. Then you can use a plugboard to put the series information into the title as the eBook is sent to the Reader.

I have the series information in the series column. The title column needs to stay however it comes in because if I change it the Amazon books I import aren't recognized as duplicates.

@tarisea - FWIW I import books into a separate library and adjust metadata, eg stripping series from title and then use the Find Duplicates->Library Duplicates (between import and main libraries) to do the duplicate checking. Nota Bene: it can check for approximate matches.

If there is no duplicate (99%) then I move the books from the import to the main library, I resolve the 1% manually and variously.
