Author sorting in Moon+ problem -- how to fix in Calibre?

I hope this is the right place to ask this question! I'm having a rather annoying problem and it feels like Calibre is where I should be making changes to hopefully solve the issue. I used a Nook HD and a Nook Glowlight with Calibre, and used Calibre Companion with the Nook HD. For both devices, the sorting works great, and my library on the devices were sorted by author last name, but were displayed as First Name Last Name. This is great, I prefer it this way. I never had any issues with author sorting on either of these devices.

However, now I'm using an android device (Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, but not the Nook version) and I am having some trouble with managing my library on it. So far Moon+ Reader is working out okay, but when sorting by author, it sorts by the author's first name! I couldn't find any discussion about this. Does anyone know a fix for this, and should I change the templates somehow in Calibre to fix it? I'd still like for the author to be displayed as First Name Last Name though. In Calibre Companion on the Android device, the sorting is still okay. Seems like it's just Moon+ Reader that won't sort it properly.

Calibre Companion

Use that as a front end to Moon+ (you don't use Moons Library)

Haha, thank you -- it looks like that'll be my solution. Does that mean that sorting by author last name is just NOT an option in Moon+ Reader? That seems like such a strange choice on their part!

Don' know Where (what metadata field) moon gets their names from.
(I could not find documentation on their web site)
