List of libraries
Opening the pop-up menu „Calibre library to work with“, there will appear a short list of five Calibre libraries to choose from. The list is sorted alphabetically.
You may also chose from a subtitle “Quick switch”, presenting with all installed calibre libraries, also sorted alphabetically. Alternatively, I would propose to sort the short list of five libraries at the bottom of the pop-up menu according to the call-up frequency. This would provide a quick and easy access to my most needed libraries. |

It is sorted by frequency. IN fact IIRC the quick switch list is also sorted by frequency unless you have more than a certain number of libraries which is 10 by default, but can be adjusted via Preferences->Tweaks

I had a look at the code and it turns out I was aprtially incorrect. All the library lists are sorted the same way. If you have less than 10 libraries, they are sorted by frequency, otherwise by name.
This should take care of it: https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibr...392a3fb65b5ced |

Thank you Kovid for looking into my problem so fast.
After perusal of the code there seems to be an easy way to solve it. Alas, I am a reader and not a writer, and so I'm not going to change any code lines. I like Calibre and it is important to me and y changing lines of code would only kill it. I just have 10 libraries with different structures; I could reduce the number of libraries, if the virtual libraries could keep their structures (display of columns an tool bars etc.). Thanks anyway for your help Peter Last edited by SandFish; 08-16-2015 at 12:04 AM. |

That is Kovid's way of saying "I have fixed this in calibre's code, the next release of calibre will contain the fix."
![]() ![]() calibre is released most Fridays -- make sure to update calibre then. That is all you have to do. |
