Several libraries within CC
I want to use/manage my ebooks, -about 800-, with CC. In order to scroll not through the full amount of books with Calibre I use different libraries e.g. calibre1-Bibliothek a.s.o.
How I can achive this by CC????? Many thanks in advanve and best regards. |

@Wolf79 - have you considered using multiple virtual libraries within a single physical library rather than multiple physical libraries.
This would allow the same book to appear in more than one virtual library - which can be useful. BR |

However, if you don't want to do that then you can do what you want by:
You can do the same thing using a tag. You can avoid the whole problem by using the grouping drawer, reducing the number of books being displayed to those with the desired author, series, tag, or what-have-you. Some CC users keep more that 10,000 books on their device and don't have trouble finding what they are looking for. |

OK. Thanks to all for the quick response.
I will try it later on. No the weather is fine I have to go outdoors. By the way. For me the easist way would be to buy some more CC licences and install it. Possible????? |

There *is* a way for an android tablet to have multiple copies of CC .... installing multiple user accounts. I actually have two CC libraries on my tablet; one on my ereading account (restricted profile, no games, Internet access or password) and a different on one on my main (passworded) account.

Yesterday, 07.08.2015 I did comment and ask questions to the above. It seams something was going wrong by posting. I not found it now.
OK once more in short. I did check slightly some of the proposals. Mainly chaleys because of using build in functions. I did create user columns designated "Library" filled with "calibre1, .. 2. ...3". Principally it works. The same result with tags. (the function of long pressing the name I didn't know before.) But in this way only 1 calibre can be hidden. Is this limitation "build in" or did I something wrong? Of course I use the grouping drawer, its great. Aditional, to hide not used librarys would reduce the amount of authors, titles a.s.o. and provide an improved overview. In any case I like CC very much. I repeat, it's great. May be with an update in, future it will be possible to manage several librarys as with calibre. To BetterRed. Sorry what are "multiple virtual libraries"??. How to create?? To ekbell. I did try to create a limited google account. Than I read in many comments Android 5 provide not the possibility to create it with smartphones. Only by tablets. |

Vl's are created in Calibre using a the search syntax (or from a Saved Search that exists) . (click on the Virtual Library button to see options. Read the Online help to sort those out)
The VL can be exposed as a Tab for quick access One advantage is Onions (Thank you Shrek for the layer analogue) Normally (full library) only 1 saved search can be active at a time. With a VL active, you can still use a saved search. In this case it applies to the restricted VL view |

Long-press does a search for an item, such as a tag. You have the choice of all books with that item or all books without that item (matching or not). This gives you a built-in way to ask for all books in (virtual) library X or all books not in (virtual) library X. If you want all books in virtual library X OR virtual library Y then you must use the search box. If you are using tags then you would enter something like Code:
tags:"=virtlib1" or tags:"=virtlib2" The downside of this kind of search is that it is slow because CC must scan the metadata. It runs at around 25 or 30 books per second. If you have a thousand books then the search can take 30 to 40 seconds. However, if you use tags and if you add a unique tag for each search you want to do then you can use simple search, which is much faster. |

Thanks a lot again. Meanwhile did continue to check and I see with Tags is to reach managing the CC content according to my needs. (nearly)
May be in future I will try to create a restricted account and install a 2nd library and other proposals above. |
