Free (nook/Kindle/iTunes/ePub) Summer of the Midnight Sun [Xtian 1915 Alaska Romance]

Summer of the Midnight Sun by Tracie Peterson is the 1st in her Alaskan Quest series of f/m historical frontier romances with mystery/suspense elements set in Alaska in the 1910s, starring a sister and brother whose lives are complicated by the desire to embark on arctic expedition of one, and the return of an old suitor of the other, with the additional tension provided by some sort of investigator ominously looking into things, free courtesy of Christian publisher Baker's Bethany House imprint.

This has previously been offered free way back in 2010, in a Topaz format which has since been replaced by a Mobi. Some of the customer reviews note that it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, but seems very well-researched historically speaking and in terms of the native cultures also incorporated, and also explores faith themes about morality and such. YMMV.

Currently free, possibly just for one day but maybe longer as what looks like a new rotation of Baker's long-term introductory 1st-in-series freebies @ B&N (also UK), Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK), Kobo & iTunes & Google Play (all available to Canadians). Price-drop-check linkage for ChristianBook (ADE-DRM ePub available worldwide), where it'll probably drop eventually if it's meant to stick around.

Description
Leah Barringer and her brother, Jacob, have come to love the rugged Alaskan Territory they call home.

But when Jacob determines to join an arctic expedition, Leah realizes her heart yearns for more than this solitary existence.

The unexpected arrival of Jayce Kincaide, the man who spurned her ten years before, awakens feelings that Leah would much prefer to leave buried. As Jayce sets out to prove he's a changed man, Leah cannot deny the effect he once again has upon her. But the appearance of a young investigator casts a cloud over Jayce's past...and over Leah's dreams for the future.
