I'll try it, I've never been interested in listening to books because I can read so much faster.

Thanks for posting this. I kept skipping this thread because Audible doesn't usually offer free books to existing customers (unless it's a referral bonus). This is a first for me.

Agreed... Audible books are for those times when you can't read. Like driving, running, mowing the lawn, washing dishes, etc.

it appears that audible books require the audible player be installed - guess i'll pass on this one. i have more than enough players and readers of various things installed here already

I think you don't need that if you use iTunes to buy your books.

As BOb pointed out, you can play audible content on iTunes, it will also play through Windows Media Player, a Palm device, some Mobile phones and can be streamed directly from your Media Library at Audible. It also plays on about a zillion mp3 players.
