highlights rating

HI,
the android ios version of kindle is great because(using the color screen) you can divide the highlights by colors, so i filter them using for every color a different priority or tag, so that pink is the most important, yellow the less important, blue the highlights to research better in internet etc.
I spoke with a friend of mine that has a PW and she told me that this function does not exist on EINK, this disapponted me a bit, because also if on Eink you probably do not perceive colors but grey tonalities, still would be really helpful for me to filter the highlights, there is a workaround that allow to do it?
it is possible furthermore as cherry on the cake to see all the highlights both globally and per book?(second question)

There is no way to color your highlights on the E-Ink devices. The best that could be done is as you said, using shades of grayscale -- but Amazon did not see fit to chase down that possibility.

No, nobody has rewritten the framework to add that feature in.

As for viewing all highlights, you can see it on https://kindle.amazon.com/your_highlights
Or look at the My Clippings.txt file on your Kindle, which saves a copy of all your highlights/notes/bookmarks.

thanks pity eschwartz, Amazon is number one for user experience.
I am pretty sure they are going to update soon the firmware, or release it a new machine( maybe with eink color

).
the current version for android/ios of Kindle is just amazing, shame it is not eink

Color E-Ink is still a pipe dream.

We *might* see something interesting from Amazon's purchase of LiquaVista (where the good money is on) but maybe not for another five or ten years, maybe never.

Well, no, it exists in the form of eInk's "Triton" display. It's just not terribly good, and that's putting it kindly. Colours are mushy and unsaturated.

Sorry, I should've said "usable color E-Ink is a pipe dream".

There are a couple displays/products around, but they died a quick death of public disinterest. I don't even believe any such products are still sold new. I guess one is...

The Jetbook Color 2, which uses the Triton screen, appears to still be being sold. Horrible device!
