I have a question for everyone I know with a kindle device Calibre will convert the books automatically when syncing books. I wanted to know if I bought a Galaxy Tab S and wanted to use Calibre as my syncing method would it convert the books if I put the kindle app on my Tab S please let me know before I buy this tablet.

And how would Calibre know what apps your generic (non-dedicated ) type device can handle?

It is your job to configure the device driver (once connected), to set the formats and preferred priority order. This should include setting a destination/template


or you might want check out Calibre Companion available via Google play (Since this is an Android device)
