Calibre Viewer - Suggestion re Notes
I am wondering if the Viewer could be enhanced to have Previous and Next note buttons added - something like this
In that screen shot, I just clicked on the 8, now I'd like to get at note 9 by clicking a calibre Green Down arrow in the footnote window. I could then flip between what Blankfein and Greenspan were reported as saying in notes 8 and 9, perhaps to ensure they were indeed chanting the same mantra. The Blue Right arrow isn't a good solution as it takes away visibility of the actual text - one has to click a note number to get back to it. Maybe someone knows of an EPUB viewer for Windows that has 'scrollable' notes, I'd also like something for Android. Pop-up notes may be OK for lightly footnoted text, but for heavily footnoted text it's very irritating - makes me want to rush out and buy the paper edition ![]() BR |

Why not just click 9?

I find clicking small targets difficult, my hands were injured some years ago resulting in partial paralysis, which worsens as time passes. Yes I could use a larger font. but I read mainly non-fiction, hence I flip pages back and forth, so I want maximum content on a 'page' - my eyesight is fine.
I was hoping/assuming the green arrows would have keyboard short cuts. In fact just keyboard shortcuts would be fine for me - eg Next Note ctrl/↓ Previous Note ctrl/↑ And on reflection, with a short note there may not be space for the Green Arrows anyway ![]() BR |

That isn't really possible, the "next" footnote link could be in a different HTML file, and the viewer does not preload these as that would be a performance penalty.

OK thanks for considering it - maybe someone will know of an alternative viewer.
Sometimes I run two viewers - body text in one, notes text in the other. BR |
