Forum Français: Creation of a New Subforum Request

Topic: creation of a new subforum
Suggested name for this subforum: Recommandations de lecture or Livres à lire.

I think, and other persons too (see PS below), that a new subforum related to "Reading Recommendations" for the French literature at large (from Belgique, Suisse, Canada, France of course, etc.) would be a great opportuneness to discuss books and also a way for people speaking other languages to know what is happening in this dynamic literary world.

This new sub-forum could be of a great visibility for Mobileread as well as le Forum Français.

Let me know if this sounds relevant.

For the name, I think that Lectures recommandées or Livres dont il faut parler are not so bad. This is more general and included the good and bad books.

Harry I'll ask into the French Forum which of this name seems better and go back here to let you know (I don't want to talk just for myself).

The sub-forum is created. If you have a better title or description let me know, it can still be changed.

If you create an Announcement like thread in French in that section we can promote it to the front page as a news item.

A process for the choice of the title is now underway.

This title must have a minimum of consensus (in some way this is tricky). As soon as that is done, I will let you know.

In about 2 days?

Cet espace consacré à la littérature de langue française sous toutes ses formes, nous permettra de signaler, discuter, critiquer ou recommander les livres que nous avons lus.

Ce sous-forum voudrait rejoindre non seulement les francophones, mais également toutes celles et tous ceux qui sont intéressés par la littérature de la francophonie, quelque soit leur langue maternelle.

That description is far too long, I'm afraid. Look at the descriptions of the other forums - we need something that's of a similar length. I really don't think it's a good idea to call it "Un nouveau sous-forum"; the description is displayed permanently and it won't be "nouveau" in a year's time.

Just to clarify: the description of a forum is the text that's displayed under the name of the forum in the list of forums. For example, the description of the "General Discussions" forum is "General discussions about e-book reading not specific to a device, software or format."

Just a quick follow up: are there problems with my suggestions (post # 14)?

The title suggested is less direct than the one prevailing now, but it is more global as well as more significant, as least for French speaking persons.

A shorter title could be: Notre espace de lecture

The brief description seems to me straightforward: Ici, on discute des livres lus ou à lire (format numérique ou non)

If the annoncement is not pertinent or too long, it can be omitted.
