## Booting kernel from Legacy Image at 70800000 ...
Image Name: Linux-2.6.31-rt11-lab126
Image Type: ARM Linux Kernel Image (uncompressed)
Data Size: 4608576 Bytes = 4.4 MB
Load Address: 70008000

Verifying Checksum ... Bad Data CRC
ERROR: can't get kernel image!

Hi ,
I've got a few reporting this .
How / which file do I need to flash a new version ?
I have a set of images version 5.2.0 (4 files).

I've followed procedure using fastboot to flash diags ,diags kernel ,and the main kernel but always hangs at the same point when trying to boot into diags afterwards.
So I'm guessing there's another file required.
I've been searching the forum but haven't found the answer or I've missed it.

Can someone enlighten me please.

Cheers

Fastboot does not verify that the data received was actually stored to the flash memory.
That is, it has no "read-back and compare" feature.

The usual cause for what you report, is that the flash chip is not actually being re-programmed (flash chip failure).

(and yes, you missed it)

Thanks for the reply.
Guess I weren't using the correct terms in the searches.
Have spent a lot of time researching the Kindles on here mainly due to the quantity we were given to work on.
Looks like we are going to have some spares units if the flash memory has failed as it's probably not worth having them replaced.

cheers
