I am so evil...

There was a particular book my mother needed to read, so I lent her my Kindle. (For those of you who don't know, the Kindle is _not_ beginner friendly.) And while my mother used to be a techie, she isn't one anymore. She has trouble figuring out how to use a digital camera.

And I lent her my Kindle. (Don't yell at me; it was her idea.)

evil?

And just how does this make you 'evil'? Loaning your MOTHER your kindle so she can read a book? You are a good son.....

I've given Mum many reasons to disown me over the years, and keep piling them on with increasing frequency. No matter what, though, she's still got that umbilical held firmly to her chest (and wrapped tightly around my neck).

Of course, if I gave her a computer or any similar device (like an ebook reader), I believe she would be willing to use the cord as a necklace and my head as a locket, and store inside my brainpan all the pictures she has from when I was "a good boy".

You're bad, Nate.

Cheers,
Marc

Now ... wait a second. I loaned my Kindle to my 80 year old neighbor, who is not and never has been a techie. She was reading on it after about 5 minutes of showing her how the buttons worked. She used it for a few days and loved it!! I sincerely hope your mother's experience isn't a sign of some awful Martian brain plague ....

I'm not sure how, but she did manage to lose the book several times. One of those times (I'm still trying to repeat this) she somehow managed to go through 6 different books without hitting the menu. I'm stumped by this one.

Obviously she should be added to the testing group which ensures that technology is 'end user proof'

The point is, there's a market for the services of the severely technology-impaired.

Remember, Nothing is idiot proof to a talented idiot! I have found this out, much to my chagrin. I seem to either be a talented idiot or to be surrounded by same.
