or at least mine.
It's been advertised as completely waterproof, even submerged for 30 minutes underwater. My e-reader catches water under the port cover when is rinsed and it doesn't need to be upside down! ![]() Can I RMA my device? |

Of course! I've verified it a few times, furthermore each and every time it's been absolutely dust free.

No point asking here. Get in touch with Kobo customer service and ask them.

May be the water get inside as you opened the port cover?
It's quite funny that you rinsed your Kobo... I have a H2O as well but if it gets dirty I would have wiped it clean rather than rinsing it... |

It's important to check if it's rated for static water or moving water. While it might be able to withstand being submerged for a period of time, the force of even a running faucet may be sufficient to compromise the water seals.

Personally I wouldn't put mine under a running tap.

As advertised "So if you drop it in the bath or accidentally spill a drink on it, your Kobo Aura H2O will still work like new. "
Both are instances of running/moving water. You should be able to rinse it under a gently running tap. |

My H2O is not waterproof either but that's because I opened it (and drilled a hole in the back), which ruins the glue which is the only thing holding the water back - how long would you trust glue to do that.
The cover is another weak point in that it's hard to tell whether it's closed properly. You can half-close it and never notice that it doesn't stick perfectly. My recommendation is to use this device for reading, not for waterboarding. If you must use it in the bathtub, avoid water anyhow, don't submerge it or if you happen to accidentally drop it into the water get it out immediately. Don't rinse it either, what for? For cleaning it, even just breathing on it will give you enough moisture to get rid of fingerprints and such - using the microfiber that came with the reader or similar kind of soft cloth. |

I got mine specifically for reading near water, I.e bath, pool, beach. I'll still try to avoid splashes but they don't worry me tbh. I don't actually plan to dunk it in water.

No it's not. Moving water vs. static water is more about pressure than motion. In other words, you might be able to submerge your H20 in a tub of water, but you can't swish it around because that increases pressure against the seals. Running it under a stream of water from a tap is similar.
