Saving to disk
I am wondering why, after all the trouble I went through choosing the best quality cover for the book, it does not get saved when I save to disk. It only does so when I convert to epub. I read earlier that it is best not to convert your epub to epub again, if there is no problem with the book, because it can tamper with eg the content table or so.

How can I resolve this?

Also, there are labels to books which I would like to batch-replace over the whole library say "non fiction" => "non fictie". Is that possible and how so ?

The cover should be updated on a Save to Disk, unless Calibre can't figure out what the cover image of the original epub is (i.e. it does not have the correct cover syntax). In that case an epub-to-epub conversion is the only way.

You can bulk-edit tags in the Tag Browser (tag icon bottom right).

You can also use Polish Books. It will add a cover if it can't work it out.

I'll try the polish. didn't know this existed!

edit : Polish seems to crash calibre when I use it in batch.

Select ALL books, then right click, select Remove books and then on the fly-out menu select Remove files of a specific format from selected books. On the subsequent menu select original_epub.
